About us

Passion, determination, hard work and some luck, these are the ingredients you need to make your dreams come true.  If your dream is also your business you have to have a top quality product that people will want to own. A little history on how we arrived to this point.  We were both raised in town but every chance we got as kids we were at relatives or friends farms, if they had horses we could ride.  We were married in 1988 and have 4 beautiful children, 1 boy and 3 girls.

Rod was a second generation farm supplier and Georgina was the person in charge of all the reception and bookkeeping duties. In the early 1990's we bought a couple of horses that we kept at a friends place and took up team roping, next we bought a ½ section of land with a barn and a house and decided  to  put up an outdoor arena, we bought some team roping cattle and had roping at our place all summer long.

In 1997 we were so busy at work and constantly running with the kids something was going to have to give. A friend of ours approached us about selling our place so we decided to do this and move back to town, we boarded our horses there but with them not out our back door it was hard to find time to use them as much as we wanted so we sold all our horses.

In 1999 we resigned from Imperial oil and became an independent retailer.

In 2001 another farm came available and after much deliberation we bought 11 quarters of beautiful land that surrounded the sacred Ribstone Hill.

We moved out to the farm in 2004 and wanted to get back into horses, our youngest daughter Jodi was the only child interested in horses so Georgina and her took up barrel racing and gymkhana.  Rod started team roping again.
In 2005 we sold our agricultural business and went full time farming, since then we built a barn, made pens and seeded land around the yard to pasture.

We started buying weanling colts and really enjoyed working with the young horses.  In the fall of 2007 we owned 8 horses and all were geldings.

The opportunity came up in winter of 2008 to purchase a stallion in a partnership. Our search took us to Vickie Adams and Firewater Creek Ranch in Collinsville, Texas.  We were so fortunate to be given the opportunity to purchase Rollin on Firewater, a son of Firewater Flit, from Vickie.  We also bought some mares to cross with Rollin as well as his full sister and 2 half sisters to futurity.

Georgina was ready to look for a solid proven barrel horse and her friend Adel Hanson told her Rebecca Beebe was rodeoing on a real solid horse that she was selling for a friend, when we gave her a call she was just about to take the horse back, Georgina tried the horse and fell in love with Rocket and brought him home.  At the time we were looking for someone to futurity our mare "Nanas Firewater" and Rebecca said she would like to do it.  What a combo; with only weeks together they were going to futurities and clocking right at the top.  Last September we were offered to buy out our partner in Rollin so here we are a year later with a Stallion, 10 broodmares, 2 futurity fillies, a 3 year old filly and 3 - 2 yr old fillies that are nicely started.  One filly that is our only foal from Rollin.

We are on a steep learning curve but like any other successful business you surround yourself with people that are experts in areas that you are not.   Please feel free to call anytime and if you are going by stop in for a coffee and see what we have to offer.
